Te Ra School

I went to the school for almost 8 years of my life.Now , finally , being out of the weird snooty , ways i have finally realized these school was terrible. Firstly , there was a teacher who made half the class leave around year 6. Her and another teacher(who was in charge of helping people with dyslexia.) Harassed and physically the assaulted my cousin ( who was in the same class as me at the time) she obviously left. If it wasn't for 1 teacher who came towards the end of my education at the school, i would've lift. I do not recommend this school unless you have a teacher named Ashley, she's the only good one there.

Wonderful school with a real community feel.

My child currently attends the kindergarten - I've just read a previous review about a child who attended when they were five, and it sounds like they had an absolutely awful teacher - awful teachers, unfortunately, can be found all over New Zealand... The current teachers are wonderful: my child is very happy and thriving. My child's teacher would never tolerate bullying in any form and her classroom has many books in it that the children look at often. While screens are strongly discouraged for young children, books are certainly not. And homoeopathic sleep drops? Not anything I've ever come across.

As a 5 year old, I went to the kindergarten, Te Rawhiti, when I was younger. I had a very bad experience there, and I would rate it 0 stars if I could. The teacher was very opinionated, and would not let me talk about what I wanted to, or play with toys. I was bullied a lot there, the teacher denied it and the school said that "if children are bullied, they deserve it because of their behaviour in a past life". Before I started to attend Te Rawhiti, the teacher needed to visit my house to "make sure it is safe". At that time, I read a lot of books, which the teacher saw, and she said "a child of my age should not be reading". We suspect she may have been putting homeopathic sleeping drops in my water to calm me down. When I went there, I tried to talk about books, but she stopped me. Because of her and the bullying, I have been homeschooled for the last 5 years, and have only started going to school again this year. Since then, the teacher I had has left, but there could be an even worse teacher to replace her. Please never send your child to this school.
