St Peter's School (Cambridge)

It has always been a place of pomp. But the antagonistic values system leaves one scratching his head. It is safe and gives students a nice clean environment to learn in. A positive is that the environment motivates students to try hard because their ornate surroundings are so intimidating. They are cutting down on books and art supplies because someone in power is under the impression this will keep the school more on the cutting edge of technology. I don't know if I have to explain how absurd this is. Apparently no one else was able articulate the problem, because nothing stopped the school with this very weird project. The school has increasingly opted toward the trappings of a luxury country club resort, rather than a school, and the focus is on golf, equestrian, and rock climbing. Very mystifying values system. Some strange clash of personalities must be happening to cause all this.

Worst school in New Zealand. Toxic culture of bullying between teachers and students. don’t be fooled by there open days it really is not worth all that

I went to St Peter's as a boarding student from year 10 - 12 (2004 - 2006) and was a part of the equestrian team. At the time, the equestrian side of things wasn't quite up to scratch, and their programme was pretty poor; however, all other aspects of the school were great. The boarding house directors and matrons were fantastic. They were nurturing and caring, spent time with all the boarders, and were enthusiastic about their roles. They tackled bullying within the boarding houses pretty quickly. I was pretty homesick throughout the first year, but ended up settling OK with the support and care of the house directors and matron (I understand the ones I had have long gone, however one of the house directors is still there within a teaching capacity). Keep in mind that we are now talking about 20 years ago, so my review is possibly obsolete now! But it was an incredible school with a great support network back then. Mr. Speedy was the Deputy Principal at the time and he was one of the most memorable there!

Serial harassing is a big NO. Two independent investigator reports St Peters would not openly address allegations nor findings to Yevette Williams, even though they alleged allegations against her she was not privy to, that went on till May 2022 from 2021. Left without a listed Principal 2021 till January 2023. It's a minefield. Statisically teachers in 20s to 30s left as soon as they could, to find better school working conditions. Demoralizing abuse is historially proven, in a historical less than well managed structure. Not going to change overnight. FAKE five star comment....as if a lusty love sick international persons message is a joke, it is NOT a school Review. Upon that non credible removal, this is a 1 star rating

Teachers are rude. They will call your child several names for misunderstandings, and keep your child in late, for the dumbest stuff. For example:Idiot, stupid, stupid boys, etc. This is not acceptable in teacher standards. They will degrade your child. They also do not give you much freedom. Save your money.

Snobby and not worth the money.
