As a student in year 13, who has been struggling with both academics and home life/ medical, SJC has been extremely accommodating to me and has come up with a plan. Talking to students at HBHS and Hilcrest is somewhat similar to situations they have stated that "they seem just to be another face in the crowd, and that these problems are no different from any other student".
All my teacher care a lot about all their students and want to see them all succeed to the best of their abilities. Teachers take the time to know the students on a different level and go above and beyond for the students.
And it's not just the teachers, it's also the learning support staff, subject technicians, and administration/ office staff. I know almost all staff by name, and as do they.
St John's College transforms a boy into a man. Through these years at the college, students are taught valuable lessons towards manhood and what it means to become a 'marist man' and 'Johnnie's boy'. The pillars that we stand by also guide the students towards this goal as well.
Attending SJC turned out to be some of the best years of my schooling life and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I got on really well with teachers and other students as it is a very welcoming school.
SJC is definitely a very good school for the right people. It is a very boy to man focused education. There are great teachers who are always very keen to help and the school can handle almost all situations very well.
