Newlands Intermediate

I really enjoyed going to Newlands Intermediate School (NIS). It was a highly positive experience for me, and I am so grateful I went there. Both years I had amazing teachers who truly cared about us and did their best to make school an inviting environment. During my time at NIS, I struggled to extend myself beyond the classroom, and my teachers always tried to help me with this. The school's pastoral care team is also lovely, with counselors available to talk to whenever you need them. I did find that the academic education was slightly lacking at times. Many of my peers struggled with basic math foundations and writing, though I am sure this is a reflection of the primary schools rather than NIS itself. On the plus side, the school offers a wide variety of sporting opportunities, and I highly encourage students to get involved in them. Overall, I am so thankful I was able to attend NIS, and I highly recommend sending your kids here!

I went to this school and loved it. I personally excel at school and my teachers did their best to keep me engaged, and focused. They have very good tech classrooms, which are taught by lovely teachers. All the teachers at this school are lovely and truly care about you and your well-being. When stuff happens at school, teachers are quick to step in and take control of it. There is almost no bullying at Newlands and if there are issues, they are quickly resolved. They also have many outdoor opportunities and have a wide range of different sports options. The classrooms are spacious, and have a good amount of kids. I would highly recommend Newlands, as Its a incredible school.

Had a horrible experience here. Was not taught anything of value, or anything that would prepare me for high school. Had horrible teachers for both years, but there are definitely good teachers here it just depends on your luck. Apparantly raroa is just as bad but idk, only go here if you want to have lots of friends with you as you graduate to newlands college.
