Most of the teachers were very down to earth and good at helping you through your work but some higher up staff and teachers of important subjects were absolutely horrible to deal with and were just on a power trip
Mountainview highschool is a good learning step, it focuses on opportunities more than specialisation. They provide ample facilities, however, student behaviour is a huge downside (alcohol, ‘swearing’, drugs, vandalism, vaping and also just manners).
It is a very inclusive place, with gender neutral toilets and scheduled hang outs and support groups for the LGBTQ+ community and before covid-19 exchange students also.
All in all Mountainview is a school that allows you to explore all your strengths and give you a large pool of working skills, although it has its downsides, which all schools have.
honestly the year 9 and 10 classes are a poor excuse for “learning”, the teachers are fantastic however the curriculum they have to teach isn’t challenging and is boring for the more academically capable students. they’re are a lot of issues around the school and not a lot of focus on the big issues more focus on uniform than the actual important things.
Yr 9 and 10 modules are not good but in yr 11 its better. Most teachers are really kind and caring. Some you can have a bit of a laugh with. Smoking and drugs and sex is still a problem but not as bad. Wouldn't reccomend if you kid wants to go to uni or something as there isnt as many opportunities
