Marina View School

Bruh when I went to this school I had a horrible experience, I literally got bullied so bad it might have killed me. This was all many years ago like before 2020 even began but some boys tried to put something around my neck and they also did the same thing to my friend which was quite dangerous cause like it could have literally choked us?? And they were also laughing the whole time while doing it and they were teasing us. Also I remember this girl she used to be like very rough with me so she would kind of sit on me and whenever I begged her to get off she wouldn't and I almost stopped breathing and umm yea so I guess she was tryna kill me as well. But I don't know why everyone was so obsessed with trying to hurt me.. Also I remember I got made fun of for just eating yogurt and idk what I even did but omg. And also I had some weird classmates. Like for example the girl who was being rough with me was my classmate, and also I had this kid in my class and I think he was special needs but like he was very violent. And one time everyone had to leave the class cause he was throwing chairs at people and trying to destroy the entire classroom and idk what happened.. And bullying was just horrible when I attended this school. But like that was 7-8 years ago and now in 2026 I don't know what the school is like now but I'm sure there are less bullies and the school isn't so trash.. Um ok

Marina view is absolutely amazing. They have excellent academic programmes, and because the teachers are so fun and enthusiastic about teaching, as well as being extremely qualified, the lessons are incredibly well planned and genuinely fun to attend. Specifically in the year 5-6 and 7-8 range is where it starts to get really exciting, as the science, tech, sport, and other extra curricular activities get massive upgrades and all of the teachers are incredibly supportive. Thankfully due to its smaller numbers, it’s very easy to be recognised if you are a focused and motivated student. They will focus on the kids who are willing to learn and out the effort in and push them to where they need to go. My ONLY complaint is that it is lacking in the music and drama department. The lessons are often repetitive and overly simplistic, so it doesn’t help you learn new information. However, that wasn’t the schools fault specifically. The teacher they had in that department, Marian Sinclair, was a terrible teacher with an awful attitude. However, she isn’t there anymore, and they seem to be changing the music department, so if you’re interested to go there, I highly advise you to attend. I’ve made some excellent friends and the senior/intermediate teachers are VERY good at not only teaching but also the high school transition. Their recommendation letters, reports and other comments are incredibly supportive, positive, and just truly so sweet. The leadership opportunities are also phenomenal, as they will often do yearly trips around the country based around historic information. Not only is it a fun weekend away with close friends, but you get to know a little bit more about the history of New Zealand too. I highly recommend Marina View!

Its truly a work of destruction. I swear. You can hear kids swear harass and more that you cant even amagine. just awful

A really great school. We have a lot of fun here but we also get the work done. The teachers and other students are really respectful. There are a lot of different activities that the different year groups do that make it really interesting to see what the differences are each year. Would recommend it for any parent looking for a school for their child.
