Glenbrook School

As a parent, I could not speak more highly of Glenbrook School. From the very first day, our experience has been outstanding. This is a school that genuinely places children at the centre – where learning is meaningful, relationships are strong, and every child is given the opportunity to shine.

Principal Lysandra Stuart is a remarkable leader. Her calm strength, deep care for every student, and ability to bring people together are qualities you rarely see combined so powerfully in one person. She leads with courage, clarity, and compassion. She holds high expectations while always putting the wellbeing of children and staff first. You can see her impact in the positive, respectful tone of the school, and in the pride our children feel in being part of Glenbrook.

The teachers are passionate and skilled – they really get to know our children, their strengths, their needs, and how to bring out their best. Learning at Glenbrook is rich and engaging. Our child talks about their learning at home, feels connected to local stories and culture, and is developing not only strong academic skills but confidence and a genuine love of learning.

What makes Glenbrook truly special is the sense of community. Parents are welcomed and included, communication is clear and respectful, and there is a shared commitment to growing great kids. The values of manaakitanga, ako, and whanaungatanga are lived every day.

We are so thankful for the leadership, the teachers, and the heart of Glenbrook School. Our child is thriving – and we as a whānau feel part of something purposeful and deeply positive.

Such an amazing school full of opportunities. My daughter is constantly having chances to sign up to things in sports, Kapa haka and music. Her teachers are supportive and I love how the principal is always encouraging students to try things and not give up. They have high expectations in learning and the teachers are caring and do so much. Love the extra things they do in years 7&8.
