Darfield High School

I attended this school for 6 years. I left before completing Year 13 due to bullying. Don’t get me wrong, some of the teachers are genuinely amazing and will go above and beyond, but the rest of them on the other hand… I’m not sure where to start. My PE Teacher (I will not name for privacy and respect), he left a wee bit ago due to a rumour of him trying to touch a female students leg, and then he came back…me and my best friend felt so uncomfortable around him due to his creepy stares and creepy remarks. I can hands down say Hayakawa Sensei is the best teacher there, she goes above and beyond for every student in her class, she really taught me so much. The princeable seems like he doesn’t know what he’s doing and it comes across he’s just spending money Willy nilly. There is one science teacher in particular I do not like and never felt comfortable around due to his pettiness and disturbing comments. Me and my friend had completed an assessment, he accused both her and I of plagiarism, he said I “plagiarised” because I used one of the google doc TEMPLATES to lay out my essay which I had already written in my book, apparently getting a template to help you lay out what you’ve already researched and written is plagiarism? Also one of the old year 8 deans used to smoke cigarettes, which no big deal, half of the students vape and get away with it anyways, but when coming back from PE once the classroom STANK of smoke almost like they had been smoking in the classroom. Another incident with this teacher, when my older sibling was still at school she used to go into darfield at lunch with a friend, they caught that teacher having a cigarette just opposite the church, I don’t think this is a very good look. I’d seriously reconsider taking your child here unless you want them to be bullied for 6 years straight and have the teachers do nothing about it. I had this happen to me, a group of boys and girls would constantly bully me, when I spoke up to the teachers, nothing was done, I was hit with the “just ignore it”. Those bullies got praised. Then when a girl told me and my best friend to unalive ourselves AT SCHOOL the teachers “smart” decision was to move us into a different class that has more people that bully us instead of removing the problem herself.

So I am a short person (which is alr bad enough) but a subject to racism. But when I went to this school, we'll it was amazing. Wonderful teachers ❤️ (hi Mrs rangi)
And for me atleast, everyone has been welcoming and I made a lot of friends. Aside from a few bad people I loved this school. But to say it's fully welcoming is wrong. See there's this one short (no offence) kinda dorky has glasses and bunny teeth that gets bullied along sadly. To be fair he was an attention seeker and constantly calling others names but aside from those this has been my favorite school. I have been to around 6. It doesn't deserve the hate.

I have been at Darfield High School since year 7 and I swear if you don't understand the work they set for you a high percentage of the teachers don't try and help you they just yell and scream at you.

Definitely would not recommend coming to my school lol teachers are horrible and 90% of them are pedos and have no lives. Education system here is fucked and uniform is horrid. School never does anything about problems or issues. Plus side is you can vape in the bathrooms lol

Intellectually bankrupt organisation which is full of drug use, bullying, racism, Homophobia, and out of date learning topics. Frankly it’s a disgrace to call it a school.

Best school today very nice teachers.
