Bayfield High School

Bayfield is an Incredible school if your child suffers with disability and or learning difficulties. Amazing teacher aides and an amazing learning centre department as-well as strategies to make sure kids with behavioural problems are looked after and there needs are doubt with. classes/timetables adjusted for students that need it. I have a son that wasn’t accepted in other high schools but is loving his time at bayfield.

This is the worst school I have ever experienced, the students only care about popularity and the staff all love abusing power. Do one thing wrong and you'll have the whole senior management team watching over you 24/7, targeting you, like a dog on a lead, they say they want to help you, or will help you but never follow through. I was promised help and support by counseling provided by school, never followed through. I never felt welcome at this school because ever since my first term the teachers had been rude to me because of simply being a teenager. There's nothing wrong with having a little laugh here and there, being strict only makes students feel more compelled to do things there not supposed too. Girls do not feel safe around specific male teachers as a year 10 student once tried to assault his math teacher for creeping Girls out, this school is miserable and has no hope, staff are also unprofessional with there jobs. Things are often not communicated well, need 6 staff teachers surrounding one student because of one swear word aimed at a teacher because it was well deserved. Over 30 years of life and you can't take a teenager, a child having a mouth that can speak with language everyone in New Zealand knows. Vaping is a massive problem there too. Every student past year 10 at least vapes in the bathrooms and the teachers don't do anything about it unless you have been seen using one and then target you onward, have a pen close to your mouth? Next day on your Kamar will be saying caught vaping etc, students can change but staff don't understand that. If you do a few things wrong in year nine you will forever be getting targeted by staff for the rest of your said time there. As soon as you try to start behaving as a good kid again staff will not care, they will bring up irrelevant subjects to you to tell you off about. If you defend yourself in a fight you will get suspended. For what? Do you seriously expect someone to stand there in front of a whole school and mindlessly get beat up?, no, I didn't think so. Please never send you kids here.

It gets alot of crap, and it is undeserved. Bayfield is a brilliant school it does have flaws but so does every school. Bayfield fosters an inclusive environment where everyone can belong and become the best version of themselves!

Having so much fun at Bayfield, learning heaps, there are so so many amazing oppotunities here! Love it here! Best part is the overall environment and vibe of the school.

Bayfield highschool is an excellent school, the teachers are cool and know what they are doing. The outdoor Ed course is incredible and so are all the great oppotunities. The fact that Bayfield is a coeducational school is brilliant and creates a world realistic environment.

Bayfield high school is an amazing school, its inclusive and friendly, The school values are respect by most students. endless opportunities for learning, sport, extracurriculars, Bayfield is the perfect school for me and many many many students locally. lake every school there is numptys but that cant be helped. The school is serious about safety as seen during senior exams 2023 when they went into lockdown quickly. The row coach Gareth is an absolute legend join the rowing team to have best time of your life on the water with a cool crew!

Bayfield high school is a great school if you are wanting to have a peaceful highschool time without too much pressure or bullying. The environment is very healthy as teachers and students are honestly very encouraging and tolerant. Our 40Hr Challenge/Famine is a highlight of the school as well as the school shows that the school propose!

Do not suggest. Every student my self included has just been thrown into poor mental health. You could go see the school counsellor for that...except he’s useless. Along with 90% of the staff.
