    Amazing School

    Onehunga High School is an amazing school. With about 1000 students it is an ideal place to serve the needs of the local community. Over the last 2-3 years it has experienced dramatic change in the quality of teaching and learning and the results prove it. The school is now safe and inclusive. Staff and students are proud to call it their home away from home.

    OHS Proud

    Onehunga High School is an incredible place. The transformation over the last few years has been remarkable. Not long ago, fights were happening daily, vaping was common in class, truancy was everywhere, and students controlled the school. Pass rates were worse than those of a decile one school and in 2017 we had the highest stand down rates in the country. Now it is completely different. Students are in class learning, behaviour is calm and respectful, and academic results are the highest they...

    Toxic culture

    This school has changed a lot in the last 2 or 3 years since the arrival of the new principal. A divisive culture has developed amongst staff due to behaviour from the top. Dozens of staff have left because they no longer had confidence in the school leadership. Staff have been bullied, lied to and gaslighted from on high. There is a noticeable change in values with a lack of empathy, respect and integrity from the highest level. A toxic place for staff.
