Aotea College

Overall it is a pretty good school, they try their best to deal with bullying and behavior that should not be tolerated. However, sometimes they take kids out in really cold weather when it's raining outside for PE. Just a little bit of a health issue but otherwise the school is really pretty good.

I moved away because of how shocking the teachers can be they don't treat anyone with respect they don't care about the children's learning and some speak with hate if I was able to do something I would this isn't the way I would want my child to "learn"

I am currently at this school and the student office ladies are so rude. They talk about students behind their backs and are just incredibly rude face to face. They're teachers talking bad about students? Some of the teachers aren't that bad but some don't listen to the concerns of students. The bathrooms are always filthy and broken. Maybe after the school year starts the bathrooms stay clean for at least a few days. Also there are a lot of kids who generally don't like going to school because of the environment. The teachers seem to care more about shoes than the students health. Oh yeah, one of the teachers got mad at a student because their shoes showed a bit of white. The teacher took it into their own hands and got a sharpie and colored it in. The student was wearing their only pair of shoes.

It's a very welcoming school to people of the LGBTQIA+ community but I think the teachers and staff think wearing the wrong socks is a crime lmao and the staff is a bit rude and will talk behind other students backs. But otherwise great school

Teachers are knowledgable but very naive. Kids smoke vapes, cigarettes and weed, in school bathrooms or in bush surrounding the school, at break time or even during class time. Most schools are the same, but it's still evident here. The classrooms are too small for the growing population and the old school was genuinely better. Students are friendly, I could talk to anyone. Schools are almost completely glass, there is no safety if there was ever a shooting. I've also seen many students carry knives.

It is new teachers are pretty good some can get on your bad side

Loud. Always loud. Not enough rooms for classes. The school is CONSTANTLY FILTHY. The new build is SOOO SOO BAD. The new bathrooms A+ if they werent always broken. 75% of all toilets are broken, or the locks broken. If students want an extracurricular opportunity they need to seek it out themselves, the only reliable school information is sent out BY STUDENTS! Students who are leaving!!! Most of the Aotea's positives are bc of previous students! Other schools offer better opportunities for your student(s) to suceed! But the new shiny build is cool....I guess......
